Overview

During the month-long period from June 24, 2024, to July 25, 2024, I undertook a comprehensive review and update of broken and outdated links within the Akash Network documentation. The main tasks involved searching for updated links, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining the integrity of the content. Here are the key points and steps taken during the project:

1. Searching for Updated Links:

   • Methodology: I conducted extensive searches on the internet to find current and accurate links to replace the broken ones.
   • Outcome: Frequently, these searches led me back to the Akash Network resources, showcasing the extensive distribution of Akash code online.

2. Minimal Content Updates:

   • Approach: The primary focus was on link updates rather than content modifications.
   • Version Updates: In instances where dependency versions required updating, I tested the new dependencies to ensure compatibility and functionality.

3. Dependency Management for Older Mainnet Versions:

   • Strategy: For older mainnet versions, I aimed to use the same dependency versions whenever possible. If links were broken, I sought out archived or alternative sources for those specific versions.

4. Hardware Recommendations:

   • Current Status: The hardware section of the build guides is significantly out of date.
   • Recommendation: A thorough review and update by a knowledgeable individual are required, as many hardware components listed are no longer available.

5. Discord Channel Links:

   • Issue: Discord channel links often become outdated when channels are updated.
   • Query: Is there a method to link to Discord channels that remain valid despite updates?

6. Internal Documentation Links:

   • Solution: For archived documentation linking to other non-archived sections, I redirected these to the current versions of the documents if they were available.

7. Grammar and Content Edits:

   • Scope: Only corrected grammar if it was immediately surrounding or part of the link being updated.

This project has improved the reliability and accessibility of the Akash Network documentation by addressing the issue of broken and outdated links, ensuring that users can access the most relevant and current information. Further updates, especially in areas like hardware recommendations, will enhance the overall quality and usefulness of the documentation.
