Displaying Retail Price (Crossed off) and Special Price - Not Working #284

Does anyone know of a way I can get a specific product configurations to show the product's actual retail price and special price.
example:

strike

When I enter the special price in my simple product, I am not able to get my product listing to show the original retail price crossed-off with the special price below to show customers that they are getting a savings on that particular product.

I have attached an example (above) in case I haven't described what I am looking to do clearly enough.
