Standardization of a Bill of Materials format

This is very cool and very much needed! :-)

Please though, specify and document this as a separat3e, independent project!
It can only be called standardized if many, many parties work on it and have a say on it.
It needs to be something that many other softwares will also use. If you agree and want help with this, I can help, and many from my network would potentially jump in too.
