Objective

We are validating the ability to update the contents (language, query, time range, filters) of an existing saved query.

What to test

Update Permutations:

  1. query

  2. filters

  3. time range

  4. language


Try the above permutations for both value of Flag data.savedQueriesNewUI.enabled i.e true/false

Scenario Steps Expected result
Visualize Pages only show valid saved queries
  • Navigate to Discover
  • Click on Open Saved Query Button
  • Select a Saved Query
  • Update any combination of Update permutations listed above and save the changes by clicking on save query button (don't save it as a new query)
  • Refresh the page
  • Click on Open Saved Query Button
  • Select the previously selected Saved Query
  • Validate that Discover now loads with updated parameters

What do we need to make sure the test can be written

Steps to setting up the scenario

  1. Have at least 1 existing workspace with index patterns

  2. Have at least 1 saved query
