When specified zypper will check for file /etc/zypp/UserInstalled containing the names of user installed packages. zypper --userinstalled will properly maintain this list at any time. zypper --userinstalled dist-upgrade will rebuild file /var/lib/zypp/AutoInstalled based on file /etc/zypp/UserInstalled.
