It's been a while, but iirc emerge is only used to install parted and you can work without emerge. Have a look at: https://github.com/wamserma/archarm-usb-hp-chromebook-11
Note that this will get you an outdated kernel and pacman will not update the system due to conflicts/missing packages.
edit: never mind, the peach is is gone anyway, so you might have to change OSFILE in the script to point to ArchLinuxARM-armv7-chromebook-latest.tar.gz. I don't have a spare Chromebook to test here. Please report if that worked for you.
it gave me a 403 error when i used dev_install
i think it's a way to download emerge file from other place and move it to the same path.
So do you have this file or other ways?
