How to avoid setting the Time radio button each time an event is edited?

Hi! Each time I try to edit an event (not log a new one), I have to reselect the radio button for my preferred time format. I've set the default time format in the project as well as via preferences. I find I have to set the time format each time I modify an event and can't help but think there's a way to set this permanently. Could someone help identify what I'm doing wrong?

In the attached picture is an example of an event I'm editing and then the dialog box that pops up if I try to save it without selecting a time format radio button.
