Milwaukee Bitcoin Meetup ~ Michael’s Vision (MBMMV)

The MBMMV's Telegram group has been nuked by Michael. Last year, Michael inherited the Milwaukee Bitcoin Meetup as the lead organizer, while Matt Bane and Drew Fink remained co-organizers on the group's meetup.com website and administrators of the meetup's Telegram group.

Mid-March 2024, Michael made (what appears to be) a unilateral decision to nuke the group's Telegram account.

Milwaukee Bitcoin Community Update

Michael Matulef (the lead organizer of a sect within the larger community of bitcoiners in Milwaukee) has accused me of causing members to leave his meetup group. Is it a fact that I caused someone to abscond from his group? I really don't know. It appears to be conjecture to me according to my very limited view.

Michael has also accused me of soliciting members of his group away to my own Milwaukee Bitcoin Meetup group. While I did contact members of his group by DM, I did not encourage anyone to leave his group. I simply offered an alternative venue for chatting on Telegram while his group was on a temporary communication lockdown that was implemented unilaterally by Michael.

Michael has accused me of publicly or privately chastising him. Yes. That occured. I’ve tried talking with him privately about two things (about a scam that had occurred in his group and about why I was banned from his group). He blocked me on Telegram and it became impossible for me to chat with him. I asked other admin of his group (other co-organizers) if they could please let him know that I was looking to have a conversation with him, but Michael still refuses to address these issues privately with me.

Michael has accused me of making veiled threats toward him. Here’s what I did… I mentioned publicly that I was looking forward to seeing everyone at the next meetup at Transfer Pizzeria on Feb 20th. That's all.

Michael asserts that removing me from his group was supported unanimously by the other organizers. That is not true. It has been proven to me and other members and administrators of his group that this statement is false. He acted alone in his decision to ban me and subsequently unilaterally chose to nuke the Telegram group associated with his Bitcoin Milwaukee Meetup.
