How to create a Board view of Tasks

Has anyone found a way to get any kind of Board view of tasks managed by this Tasks plugin please?

I was using card-board and found it helpful to visualise tasks this way.

I have seen the Kanban plugin

As far as I can see, they doesn't seem to know about Tasks dates.

Any tips gratefully received...

@claremacrae I didn't spend too long looking, so I may have missed something, but I saw no way to integrate either of those plugins with Tasks-style todo items. It appears that cardboard has a different format for dates -- @due(2021-10-30) -- while Kanban is "whole note" oriented (as apposed to "individual task"-oriented.)

@therden Thank very much indeed - that was my conclusion too, about those two... Fingers-crossed that someone in future may write a board for integrating with Tasks...

Tasks will support signifiers like due::, @due, etc. That should make it compatible to other plugins like Kanban.

While task management with card-board looked initially very promising I found it a little time consuming to change tasks' due dates. Since this can't be done on the board itself, it requires to open the note containing the task and make the modification there.

Using the Tasks plugin, Obsidian Workspaces and a few lines of custom css it wasn't too difficult to recreate a subset of card-board functionality. The solution doesn't provide sub-tasks or comments in the "cards" like card-board does. It does offer more flexibility in querying and grouping tasks, in my opinion.

I wonder if a work around or solution exists for this. I started using Tasks recently and would love to have a kanban board by the various task statuses so I can drag and drop tasks across those status swimlanes.

I have published in Discord how I view tasks in a table, which you could use to simulate a kanban board by only having one row.

But it does not support drag-and-drop.

That vault has the dataview 'Refresh Interval' set to 2,500 - which seems to be important for editing performance for this.
