why do none of the tasks have Id's?

none of the tasks in the cache.tasks list have ID's is the ID supposed to be the position in the list?

or is it neither and there is no unique identifier for tasks?

Hi, I'm guessing you are looking at Task.id?

This is a feature that has been merged to main but not yet released.

To see some sample IDs:

• Download and open the vault from this recent build - by clicking on the Tasks-Demo-VerifyCommit-Build4211-Run1 link, expanding the zipped file, and opening the folder on Obsidian as a vault.
• Then open the file Dependencies Samples

You can read the incomplete documentation on this feature by opening the docs/ folder in obsidian, and reading the Task Dependencies page (from memory).

Also, the Id field is a new field that is part of the new Task Dependencies mechanism.

ah OK. i was also trying to add UUID's and created an issue for it. Do you know why the tests dont reckognize crypto.randomUUID() even though it runs find in obsidian and is a native node package?

I don't know.

But since Node isn't available on mobile, no node packages can be used in plugins that support mobile.
