Ideas/options to help make rendering of task lines less intrusive in Reading View/Reading Mode

Background

There are various issues reported around stopping Tasks from stripping out or hiding information in Reading View. For example:

• inline dataview query didn't render correctly in reading mode #1233
• option to disable processing of Reading View (Tasks assumes single-line task items which affects much rendering) #1259
• Parents of indented tasks do not show collapse icon in Reading Mode (when folding is enabled) #1323
• Numbered sub-tasks aren't rendered in reader mode #1395
• Page embed in Tasks Broken by pluggin (reading mode)  #1877
• If user selects dataview for their task format, Reading mode still shows signifiers with Tasks emojis - consider adding option to retain the current display... #1889

Tasks makes a lot of changes to the rendering in Reading View.

It injects the logic to handle task completion. In theory, it could be only necessary to add the handler to the checkbox. However, I remember trying to refactor that once and it turned out to be more complicated. I don't remember the details, sorry.

Purpose

This note is to capture any snippets of information that may end up being useful to make Tasks less intrusive on the rendered output in Reading View.

You can use CodeMirror's syntax tree in Obsidian.

• If you want to create Tree from an Editor (from Obsidian API) instance, you can use syntaxTree(editor.cm.state). Here, editor.cm is CodeMirror's EditorView object.
