Syslog is splitting messages and losing information

Our /var/log/rsyslog folder keeps getting filled up with garbage:

This seems to be coming from the activity2 node. We're probably logging an excessive amount of information in the activity processor. We should:

• fix that log statement
• allow for syslog to deal with bigger lines
