Not Available in New Zealand #112

Hi! This is the list of languages that currently work: Danish, The following languages are in the pipeline, but not available yet: Portuguese, We're working on getting approval from Google to release those last 3 languages. But I should note that this has been pending for months now. Which language/country are you trying to use? |
Hi
Thanks for replying. I am in New Zealand and the language I had installed
was English (New Zealand). I have since installed additional languages
English (United States) and English (Canada) but Google Assistant still
reports the same error of not available in your country.
As an aside I was also missing the Google Assistant "Routines" option but
adding the above languages has remedied that issue, however still can't get
the talk to nighscout to work.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Marc.

It's difficult to gain approval for apps that deal with health-related
data, and the pandemic hasn't made things easier.

If your assistant is set to a different language, setting it to one of the
supported languages should make the app available.

Hello again Marc. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I haven't been able to figure out what's causing this yet. You're not the first one to report it though. The Action is cleared for New Zealand (+ all English speaking countries), and Google has confirmed this to me by email. But... No one in New Zealand seems to be able to use it. My best guess right now would be some kind of legal quirk that prevents apps working with medical data from being used? Google hasn't gotten back to me about this yet. I'm wondering if adding you to our list of bèta-testers could be a possible workaround. If you'd like to try this, send me an email here: [email protected] (from the Google Account you're using with the action) |
Thought I'd make an update in case anyone is running into this issue as well: After digging a bit further, I now know that Nightscout Status isn't the only app to encounter this problem:
Some people have successfully worked around this by setting the language of their Assistant and/or Android to English (US). So far I feel like this is some odd bug on Google's side, but I'd love to be proven wrong. |
Hi, I'm receiving a response from Google Assistant saying this feature is not available for your language or country. How do I address this? Many thanks.
