All Unread Items view doesn't get refreshed after manual sync #1462
Comments
Sorry for the late reply. Are you scrolling down a little after using the pull-to-refresh gesture? In case you are not all the way up top we will show a Toast asking you if you want to reload the list immediately instead of refreshing it automatically. Which OS are you using? Stock Android or some Custom Rom? |
Hi! No, I'm not scrolling. Even with an empty Unread view, when I think I'm at the top, I have to pull-to-refresh two times. Or pull-to-refresh once and tap on All Unread Items in the drawer. And it's always like this, I had not a single case when one refresh was enough on this install. It's on a new Sony Xperia factory Android. But I had this on a Pixel 7 too, but there the problem has gone somehow, I don't remember if a new update of News or what solved that. |
@terba Thank you for the video! Helps a lot. Indeed very strange behavior. Any special Android System Settings? I see that Animations are disabled, correct? |
Yes, animations are disabled. I enabled them, but didn't helped. I don't know what other special settings can be connected to this. I disable everything what slows down the workflow or disturbs me any way. |
@terba You don't happen to have other software installed on your phone that might interfere with the App? Like Adguard or some network blocking apps like that? |
No, I don't have anything like that. |
If I refresh the list of All Unread Items while staying on that view via pull-down gesture, the items are fetched from the server but the view doesn't get updated. If I pull out the drawer, I can see on the counters that there are new unread items downloaded.
I have to tap on the All Unread Items to make the view updated or have to refresh again (by a second pull-down gesture), that does the trick too. So basically I'm always doing the manual sync twice and then the view gets updated. The problem is similar or the same as in #892 and #1029.
I had this on my old phone too some months ago, but then the problem disappeared. My new phone has this again with 0.9.9.90 on Android 14. My server doesn't changed.
