Just wanted to say great job, but had a few questions and thoughts regarding icon changes from the original Chicago95 icon set for SE98:

  1. Why was the Pale Moon icon changed from the Netscape Navigator icon in the Chicago95 set? Thought that worked well with the Moonscape theme.
  2. Any reason why Libreoffice Writer and related documents were changed from the Office 95 icons to the Wordpad icons? Just seems out of place relative to .txt and the Mousepad program in XFCE.
  3. Finally, Any thought of collaboration to integrate this icon pack more fully into Chicago95? Would love to see this compatible with Chicago95 Plus or maybe so that it ends up as a selection to create "Chicago98"! @grassmunk @EMH-Mark-I

Thank you for the comments! I've cloned Chicago95 a long time ago and still haven't corrected much. The Pale Moon in 256 size, you are right, inappropriate I think. Maybe I can work with @grassmunk, but his project is in 16-color pallette and it has much more, then only icons (now I see, that he does not update his icon theme). What about MS Word instead of Wordpad, maybe you are right, it'll be good to draw an MS-Word-95/97 icon. Maybe it's good to change there "A" letter to "MD", and renme it to MarkDown icon? Maybe I'll do larger icons for office formats and then will change it. What about name of Chicago98... :) Windows 95 just was a "Chicago" project, and Windows 98 was a "Memphis" project. But "Memphis98" icon theme for Linux already exists :(

Well, not sure exactly what you mean by it has not been updated, since Chicago95 project does update their Icon set. But I agree that your 98 Icons you have put into the XFCE Icon set are of much higher resolution. I just meant in the sense of maybe working together so you can add your 98SE pack as an option to the existing Chicago95 script and Icon set choices! Would be great to see. I have been using your icon set for a few weeks now and think it is great and more fitting for modern setups (Ironic I know!) because of the ability to differentiate between USB drives and other hard drives, as well as the custom Whisker Menu icons which look excellent! As I said, only thing I think would be cool to see is changing the .doc and .odt and Libreoffice Writer icons, etc to the MS Word 97 icon or something similar. Maybe the Corel WordPerfect icon? Just some food for thought. Keep up the great work.

Thanks. The Word document and Excel sheet icons are updated as in MSOffice97 (including all resolutions of the theme). Now I want to make common icons, and someday to differ doc, docx, odf, rtf etc... As for the script in Chicago95 or in Q4OS, I'm a bit shy because I don't feel my theme is ready enough. Maybe I'll finish all the resolutions at least for the icons displayed in the someicons.md document, then maybe I'll be ready to decide on it. I myself use Mate and rarely Xfce4. Therefore, the theme is more optimized for Gnome/Mate than for other environments.

Thank you! No worries on differentiating between doc, docx, odt, etc. I know that is a lot of work. But I as some encouragement, I am using this in XFCE4 and it works fantastic! Hope you keep working on this and continue making it better!
