Open NavCoin Core Wallet, follow the instructions here https://openalias.nav.community/#/verify-new-address

  • Open wallet
  • Open Debug Window
  • Paste in the cmd signmessage address [email protected]
  • Returns - Error: Wallet is unlocked for staking or mixing only. (code -13)

OS is Windows 10.

All you have under Settings is 'Unlock Wallet for Staking and Mixing'.

Cannot figure out for the life of my how to unlock the wallet in the way the debug error window is expecting to compete the Open Alias? For something that's supposed to be easy and simple and support adoption this is broken.

Implementation needs a rethink by UI developers please.

Keep reading the instructions, it shows how to unlock wallet right below the step you stopped on ;-)

I think we could have a GUI button for wallet unlocking though.

Understood, did end up making it work in the end but agree a debug window obscure cmd to unlock your wallet for creating a friendly email like alias doesn't feel right for adoption... no idea if you want to close this off and raise it as a feature request but I'd vote to add a unlock wallet option to the GUI.
