That's a bit odd indeed. It could be running out of space, I guess total peak consumption might be several multiples of the squashfs but I wouldn't expect it to hit 32GiB. Can you paste the command you are running and the complete output (maybe even with --debug)?
Hello Michael,
When adding the linux-firmware package to the Ubuntu Noble live installer I get:
rsync: [receiver] write failed on "/tmp/tmpovhfyg0n/.tmp/tmpjw78lrvu/casper/ubuntu-server-minimal.squashfs": No space left on device (28)
My tmp file-system has 32 GiB.
Shouldn't the size of the squashfs systems grow to whatever is needed?
