HREP Mussel Modeling: Modeling mussel habitat suitability for Upper Mississippi River Restoration projects
This bookdown document describes the process for modeling mussel habitat suitability on Upper Mississippi River Restoration (UMRR) Habitat Rehabilitation and Restoration Projects (HREP).
The feasibility phase of UMRR HREPs has a need for evaluating mussel habitat suitabilty. Currently, there are no USACE approved planning models for estimating mussel suitability. This document seeks to outline an approach that makes use of existing mussel occurance data from the USACE Upper Mississippi River mussel database and Adaptive Hydraulics (ADH) models of river hydraulics as input into to the species distribution modeling application Maxent.
This project has been funded by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Upper Mississippi River Restoration Program (UMRR).
