ProtonTricks Does Not Display Certain Shortcuts #495
Comments
@DuncanKalyon imma be honest, Protontricks hasn't worked for me in a while even without using NonSteamLaunchers, if you can show me how to fix I can then try and see what's going on with NSL. Even on my own deck, Protontricks doesn't even load up properly for some reason. |
I think ProtonTricks only recognizes folders named with a sequence of numbers. In theory, I see two solutions:
It seems to me that the first solution works, but I haven't tested the second one. |
@DuncanKalyon I get what you're saying, but for me protontricks won't even work on my deck right now haha, I wiped my own plugin and NonSteamLaunchers and Protontricks seems to not acknowledge even my steam games lol its been broken for months even after I Uninstall and reinstall it via the disocver store on flatpak, how did you install it succesfully? |
For ProtonTricks:
I just tried renaming the GOG folder (in 'compatdata') and creating a shortcut named 'GogGalaxyLauncher', but it didn't work. So apparently the only solution is to group everything into a single 'NonSteamLaunchers' folder. Usually, I prefer using Lutris to install games from other platforms. But some titles (especially multiplayer ones) require GOG Galaxy, and to be able to mod them, ProtonTricks is necessary (like Battlefront II Classic, for example). |
I don’t know if the problem comes from NonSteamLaunchers or ProtonTricks, but ProtonTricks no longer displays certain shortcuts (such as GOG, or games installed with GOG) when the “Separate App IDs” option is enabled.
The problem is the same whether using the Decky Loader version or the Desktop version of NonSteamLaunchers.
I think it's because the GOG Galaxy Launcher is the only folder that does not point to a folder with a sequence of numbers.
(For example : "Battle.netLauncher" = "2221882453" )
