To improve failure output, consider updating the matcher match_pam_rule to not print out all the rules in the file. The missing rule could be sufficient in this case to avoid long/unreadable failure output. Example controls:

  • SV-204405
  • SV-204406

Based on this comment, there could potentially be an issue with the pam library. Find out why missing required rules was empty but the control failed anyway. It may be related to the match_pam_rules matcher.
