When I try to select photo that not on this device, I got some error:

[ImageManager] Media resource request failed to return valid data or url with error: Error Domain=PHPhotosErrorDomain Code=3164 "(null)"

Did you try to set the "isNetworkAccessAllowed" parameter in the PHImageRequestOptions struct to TRUE?

When I did that in my code, the error disappeared... didn't get the image though, but that is my next puzzle to solve.
