After logging out and logging in, most users have lost their avatar

I have migrated Signal to a new device and as a result Signal has removed other devices (the bridge). I then deregistered the bridge from Signal via the management room and registered it again.
Afterwards, the majority of Signal users lost their avatar on the matrix site.

Only maybe related log I found (this line gets printed out multiple times with different profile_aci):
