Expected behaviour

When starting up laptop battery charge monitor / battstat-applet should show in panel

Actual behaviour

When starting up laptop battery charge monitor / battstat-applet is invisible. This happens on different machines, Toshiba, Lenovo.

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

reboot laptop

MATE general version

MATE on MX19, Mint 19.3, Mint 20
Mint 20: Mate Desktop (1.24.0-2)

Package version

Mint 20: Mate Desktop (1.24.0-2), battstat-applet 1.24.0

Linux Distribution

MX19, Mint 19.3, Mint 20

Sorry, I don't understand what this rubric is about?

Workarounds: After restart of machine in terminal type
gsettings set org.mate.panel.toplevel:/org/mate/panel/toplevels/top/ size 28
where size '28' has to be varied (e.g. '27' or '22'), this reloads panel which in turn makes battstat-applet visible again

Thanks to your hint I used as a workaround a shell-script in the autostart after login: mate-desktop/mate-panel#897 (comment) - Thank you very much for your workaround!

As stated in mate-desktop/mate-panel#897 (comment) this means somewhere in the code we need to be redrawing but are not doing so.,
