The conversion to v2 is in progress, here is the current plan:

Step 1: release 4.1.0 to deprecate the behaviors that are not Embroider-compatible and document the major changes coming in v2 👉 See the dreprecations
Step 2: implement the breaking changes that were identified in dedicated PRs to simplify the big restructuring PRs 👉 Drop Ember < 3.28 and node < 16 #910, Remove support for deprecated modal-from-string #913, Replace eslint-plugin-node with latest eslint-plugin-n #915
Step 3: restructure the v1 addon to a monorepo to separate the addon from the dummy app 👉 Create a monorepo to separate v1 addon from test-app #916, Fix the deployment workflow of the test-app #917
Step 4: implement the last prerequisites before starting the conversion 👉 Realign internal components names to use the default convention #918, Use co-location in the addon package #919
Step 5: 🌟 Convert the addon 🌟 👉 Convert the addon to v2 #920 CI (fix): Build the addon before building and deploying the test app #924 ci (fix): in the deploy workflow, move the install before the addon build #925 Prepare the release process #927 Remove version numbers on private packages #943
