Error: invalid utf-8: corrupt contents

I'm seeing an error from attempting a GET via REST API that I've not seen before.. looks to be of the form that might come from Rust.

URL: "http://localhost:8100/dns/www/hello/index.html"
Error: invalid utf-8: corrupt contents

The file looks ok in the browser and is the identical file uploaded to previous tests, where this error not seen; so, unclear what this would be.
I've reuploaded to a new service and tried again without pause and get the same error.

I can't see any detail useful from the terminal or logs relative to this.

Obviously its suggested REST API is disappearing - though I note the SAFE browser seems to action something similar atm anyway but I'm expecting the API is still there and had expected no changes to it, given it works against requests for other sites.

Suggesting this more for awareness than yet having a sense of what might be causing it..
