When LXDE starts up it could default to 80x25 characters.
"80x25 characters" is 80 characters across the screen and 25 lines of text.
A bigger window would mean a bigger character font to maintain the 80x25 characters.
This would also set the screen aspect ratio of the start up screen for 80x25 characters.
Different character fonts have different aspect ratios.
"iterm.com" only has 79 characters across the screen, so is very annoying.
My hardware terminal only has 24 lines of text, so is very annoying.
Could you help by making LXDE startup in 80x25 characters in it's window?
