Your goal seems to be to interact with the app with your mouse. I believe there are better ways to achieve that:

• You can map mouse buttons to keyboard keys. That way you press a button and it displays AltTab
• We could add mouse support to trigger AltTab. It's something we discuss in great depths in Allow shortcut to be a mouse key #641

Making the menubar icon trigger AltTab seems non-intuitive for macOS users. I think the above options would make for a richer, and better mouse experience.
