the default hjkl keys to move around panels don't work for every keyboard layout

Describe the solution you'd like
Custom vim motion keys could be defined, the same way keys are defined in the "Shortcuts when active" section

Hi,

This could be useful indeed. However, we have to balance it with usability. We would have to introduce 4 customizable shortcuts in the preferences UI, next to the vim keys toggle, somehow.

I agree it would be awkward next to the vim toggle.
Another option is to instead having a vim toggle, simply adding 4 shortcut options (focus right/left/up/down) (and have them be initially unset) either to the "Shortcuts when active" other in the "Additional controls", and let users customize as they wish
