There's already a lot of useful tricks in Creases, but would you consider adding one more?

I've experimented with all the Obsidian folding-related plugins, and I've still not found something as simple and frictionless as the folding method of emacs org-mode.

In org-mode, with your cursor on a header, the following happens in response to repeated hits of the TAB key:

  1. unfold one level below the header you're on
  2. completely unfold all levels below the header you're on
  3. completely fold the header you're on

This makes it possible to quickly move through the top of a deeply folded document while hunting for something -- or through the deep folds of a single header, leaving all the unfolding you've done elsewhere untouched.

The predictability of this behavior allows me to not think about it. For me, it just "does what I want."

I know that TAB is already pretty busy in Obsidian. Any other hotkey would do.
