.gif files created with this program based on highres pics look quite bad quality wise #1

Title.
I made a simple .gif to illustrate the problem. Making a .gif based on pics with a high resolution results in a .gif with worse quality than the source frames.

Hi, this project is very old and honestly not something that should be used.

As for your problem, I think the color palette is the issue.
Gif can not handle many colors, and your original may have too many.

To solve this , some programs apply dithering where they "blend" the different color pixels to make it look like gradients.
My simple program does not dither, which causes these bands or regions of single colored patches.

Maybe some services here could create a better product for you:
