V-R (Johnson V-Cousins R) Polynomial Fit for Effective Temperatures

I am trying to add in the ability to calculate the effective temperature from the color index number V-R just like B-V but have only found the following paper so far referencing any sort of correlation. They however, use (seemingly) Johnson V and Johnson R rather than Cousins R.

Inside of this article they have cited numerous V-R (Cousins R) values in Table 4

Not directly apart of this dicussion but this article uses the numerous color indexes to find the effective temperatures by utilizing the metallicity.
