Hi,
As most of us new to Java could you please explain how to use these tools? No need to describe everything from the very beginning, use adequate deep links to specific descriptions.

I have ceased to mentor this course, so anyone who is currently mentoring, or anyone interested is free to submit pull requests here for such documentation.

The repository contains test code you can use to test your solutions before submitting them.

I believe the course forums proper have referenced learning materials for learning Java. It is however not the purpose of this course to teach Java, but a prerequisite.
