Runtime error of demo.m

I want to ask for help. I read the paper Mao et al., 2021 and was interested in the LNP model. I downloaded the neuroGAM code and tried it. But I couldn't run the demo code smoothly.

I opened the demo.m as live script and ran it. And there was an error when calling the BuildGAM function. The error was the deal function in line 71, where the numbers of inputs and outputs didn't match. I found that the basistype, varchoose and method variables were not defined in the demo. Moreover I couldn't find any description of the basistype variable in the README. Will it be better to define the missing variables and how please?
