using this with single shot mode, E shutter(silent shooting) or M shutter, the camera records 12-bit raw files. But pressing the shutter button records 14-bit raw files.

ok, my bad. this is well known sony compression issue. their "compressed" RAW has 8-11 bits dynamic range, average only 8.1bit, and very bad crosstalk. and their ARW uncompressed RAW not even doing bit pack, output is 16-bit with much less entropy.

A7RM2 can only record lossless RAW when using mechanical shutter, single mode, and compression off.
