A bit more documentation please

I just lost some good time figuring out why this library threw an error. I didn't get a good error message so I needed to go over it line per line and it seemed that retries needed to be greater than 1.

That could easily be solved by adding some more documentation about the properties. Maybe just a table defining the defaults and possible values?
