Update attrs lib and investigate use of features

Since the introduction of attrs to ramlfications, there have been some interesting and potentially useful features added (and some features that have always been there that could potentially help out)

• convert and/or factories w/i default - potentially useful to parse attribute data upon object instantiation (and before instance validation)
• frozen - perhaps we want immutability
