The current app was originally written for API version 7, and the user interface elements are obsolete.

The action bar with the connect / disconnect buttons uses custom design, which looked good at the time, but now outdated. It would be good to replace that
The menu is old. It should be replaced with the modern action bar
The app should use fragments
