Help with reading OBD2

Hi there,

I am looking to do a digital dashboard integration for a Toyota Corolla (I know nothing special),

Ideally I want to go down the ODB2 to serial for communication, ideally on a esp32 or something.
My question is what are my options with the OBD port? Can I use a OBD to serial connection? Or are my only option wifi and bluetooth?
