Yet Another Mac Zoom Issue #79
Comments
I updated the mac install to try and resolve these issues, if you are currently patched or not, you can run it and let me know if it resolves the issue for you or not. |
I tried the new script, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have done the trick for my specific issue, the 'no input from snap cam' issue. |
Can you change the resolution it's trying to use in Zoom? If other apps are working, and Zoom can see it but not display it correctly it sounds like a resolution issue. |
Same issue here under MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1. Toggling whatever minimal resolution controls that Zoom offers had no effect. SnapCamera shows as an option but displays a black screen. |
This is occurring in M2 Macs and Intel Based Macs running Sonoma. It works on my M1 MacBook Air. Here is the a snippet of the errors being thrown from ManyCam and Zoom when Snap Camera is selected as the camera. in M1 Mac I have to restart the computer and run only snap camera and then open zoom at it works other wise I get the same grey screen |
I'm also having the same issue, Snapcamera runs fine, shows as input, but when selected there is just a black screen. |
Here's the latest bit of havoc wreaked by apple: the instructions at this Apple KB article no longer work. Specficially, using the terminal from the recovery partition to enter: system-override legacy-camera-plugins-without-sw-camera-indication=on I am now getting: system-override: command not found 😡 And I am still able to select SNAP CAMERA as an option in Zoom prefs, but it only results in a black screen. Any workarounds? ( 🙏🙏🙏 ) |
I'm on Sonoma 14.3
Initally I experienced an issue with Snap Camera not being an available input, and restored the legacy behaviour in recovery mode.
After doing so, Snap Camera does appear as an available input, but when I choose it, Zoom just shows an empty feed (gray screen).
This is especially weird as, on Firefox, Chrome, and OBS, the input is being shown correctly, and I can use Snap Camera no problem.

Help appreciated, thanks!
