Excellent guide! Had to re-read the lines about the MPLAB until I figured out I had to use IPE instead of IDE..
Funny enough, it was super easy to follow once you've opened the program that was listed in the guide, I flashed it with a pickit 3 clone. I had some issues getting the standalone to recognise my clone though, but MPLAB IPE had no issues once I've checked the device as "PIC16LF1938".

The hardest part was to get into the controller, but with a dremel it was not too bad.. Love the new functionality my desk received!
