Image area selection / Cutter

Can an image area selection/cutter be implemented in Pade? When getting some printscreens, we may want to select some smaller area of the screen for focus and/or privacy. It would also save bandwidth and space on the server. Perhaps in the image previewer.

I have since discovered the snipper tool for Windows that performs this function. On my Mac (OSX), this is achieved directly by a keystroke combination supported by the O/S. I will keep the issue open just in case someone has a JavaScript solution.
