Submit textrea does not submit the full word #585

Lets say I am looking for a username @llockman

if I just type @ll and select from the list the username it displays correctly but when I submit the form I only get @ll submitted to the server.

If I type words after the mention it's fine, it's only when the mention is on it's own or it's the last text in the field
