Splunk returners

  • Strip whitespace from the API token retrieved from pillar. In the latest version of salt (v2016.3.3) newlines are not being properly stripped from gpg pillar entries. This makes it so we work regardless of whether that stripping happens
  • Better error reporting for splunk returners in case of failed requests
