Some of the entries are frequently used words, i can sort of understand why the info is given once, but every time?

It might be better to make sure the words in the list are not used very frequent in the text.

and some of them should be removed altogether: e.g. Linux, so people don't know what Linux is, but they do know what UNIX is? that makes no sense
