It would be good to have examples in the README on how to use the Nix commands provided in the package, for those unfamiliar with Nix.

Would also like a high-level overview of running certain tasks, for example opening a shell configured with a particular version of Holochain.

yes of course!

looking at static site generators that can be shipped with nix that would make it easy to document
