Thank you for becoming a volunteer at Heart of Clojure! Below you will find information which we thought is relevant to you. However, if there is anything missing, do not hesitate to edit this page.
We put together a reference sheet with contact numbers. Save it to your phone so you always have it handy.
- Heart of Clojure takes place at Hal5, Diestsesteenweg 104 (3010 Leuven). Make sure you know how to get there before your shift starts. Get acquainted with the map of the venue and the general area where the conference and the activities take place.
- Check the program regularly, as it is subject to change. You can always find the up-to-date schedule at our ClashFinder.
- Check the Activities app. Volunteers also can sign up or host their own activities.
- Carefully read our Code of Conduct and the Handling Procedures in case of emergencies.
- Download this Quick Reference Sheet and have it with you at all times, either printed or on your phone or other device.
- You will be assigned to particular shift a week before the event at the latest. If for some reason you have not received an email concerning your shift schedule by July, 25, 2019, please contact Aleksandra at [email protected].
- Please show up about 15 minutes before your shift starts and make sure you have your volunteer shirt on (we will give it to you before your first shift).
- In case of any problem related to your tasks or shift schedule before July 31, 2019, contact [email protected] and from July 31, 2019 on, write an SMS to Aleksandra (0476301056).
- It is very important that people who are on their shift are distinct from those who are on their time off, so make sure to take off your volunteer t-shirt after the shift. Otherwise, the attendees will approach you with questions and the staff will try to assign tasks to you.
- About Delta Force: during a Delta Force shift you are a stand by support who helps with whatever tasks come up unexpectedly. Be prepared! :)
- We strongly encourage that you try to make the most of Heart of Clojure. Do not hesitate to participate in all acitivities outside your shift. Notify us if tasks you were assigned are too difficult, or if anything else prevents you from enjoying the event.
- Try to maintain an open, positive attitude towards everyone you meet during the event. The attendees may ask for help with things which, at least in principle, do not require assistance. Try to help them nevertheless and treat them kindly.
See you soon!
