Thoughts I generated when talking to Dan (and myself) on Slack: we could do this as a progression:
We could solve this for now by visualizing float16 and bfloat16 histograms (but not points), allowing the user to toggle the posit, bfloat, and float histograms.
We could also allow the user to toggle between visualizing posit, float, and bfloat points, only allowing one to be selected, because multiple selected would be mostly meaningless/cluttered.
(stretch goal) Finally, we could allow for multiple points to be visualized, by drawing them on concentric circles.
This would be cool, but would require some thought. One way to do this that would be REALLY cool would be via concentric circles!
