Not sure if this is a "how to" question or a feature request, but I'd like to easily temporarily disable this extension, so I could allow a site to add a search engine as an intentional action (it's a useful feature of Chrome, just not sure why Google allows anyone to stick a search engine in your browser).

Is this possible right now? If so - how? It's not immediately discoverable.

If it's not possible, is it difficult? Please consider it for a future version.

Thanks!

Right now, the only ways are to add the search engine manually, or to:

  • Disable the extension from chrome://extensions
  • Do a search on the site in question
  • Re-enable the extension from chrome://extensions

There is work underway to add whitelisting - see #28 .

@clunkclunk FWIW I use the Chrome extension Extensity to quickly enable/disable extensions.
