@lzys Can we work on your application together? The links you provided leave me wondering what exactly CoInvest is and how I could get involved in it. Could you say more here about what you're up to? :-)

CoInvest was supposed to be a tool to let investors make knowledgeable investments together, on top of angellist api. With the development of multi sig technologies (copay.io, ehthereum or new stellar), it could be a platform for startups finding investors in their network easily.

By allowing founders facilitate a shared wallet, their friends-investors could pay with crypto currencies to get rights of that wallet/their income (e.g. Stock). By sending this address to their social network, they could raise funds easily and cheaply - no need to register a company, or open a bank account.

Regarding compliance, in most countries solicitation of investment is allowed when friends/people you know well are approached, though number of investors might be capped.

Plan is to make this software open source, to allow anyone to kickstart a business easily.

Still struggling with this one, because it doesn't fit neatly into the box we're used to ("open-source project hosted on GitHub"). I see you've added some information to the Google Doc, @lzys. That content describes the project, but still leaves me uncertain about what work needs to be done or how I might do it.

@lzys Have you considered setting up the project on GitHub or GitLab or another project management platform?

Tried to upload the code here - https://github.com/lzys/appollocreative-coinvest-9fcbdf9b6eff (but in order to make it cryptocurrencies compatible, I think it's better to start from scratch).

There's a need for some technical help here, and I hope to achieve it soon.

@lzys I've set the to-do URL to https://github.com/lzys/appollocreative-coinvest-9fcbdf9b6eff/issues and approved the application. I can't say this is the strongest application we've seen, but I think your heart is in the right place and I wish you the best of luck! :-)

It's an early stage venture indeed, but we had a big forward step today,
with SEC approval of crowdinvesting for unaccredited investors.

Thanks for believing in the project, and hopefully it would help make
entrepreneurship
flourish, while changing the face of finance/economy. Also, it's exciting
to have Gratipay as partners for this road.

Hi,

Would you add an option to donate in crypto currencies? Think that's pretty
easy through Coinbase etc.

Thx

We used to offer bitcoin payins/payouts, but stopped when we relaunched as Gratipay 2.0, because we can't confidently support cryptocurrencies under our new terms of service. One of the criteria for the legal box we are in is that we "operate through clearance and settlement systems that admit only [properly ]regulated financial institutions." Coinbase is regulated, but the bitcoin network as a whole is not. See here for details.

Meant milestone based.. Funding goes to wallets based on activity,
therefore transparent..
