Our new terms of service call for a public comment period before Gratipay makes a final decision about whether to approve a team. Here are the seven teams that are new since last week:

https://gratipay.com/kivy/
https://gratipay.com/citizens-cooperative/
https://gratipay.com/chihiro-fansubs/
https://gratipay.com/catapultpgh/
https://gratipay.com/sudomesh/
https://gratipay.com/perl-maven/
https://gratipay.com/exercism/

This ticket is the Gratipay community's chance to weigh in with feedback on these applications. Are these teams a good fit for Gratipay? How can these teams improve their application? What questions do you have for these teams?

Greetings!

You're receiving this email because you've applied for a new team on Gratipay. Thank you for applying!

In reviewing applications, we are primarily looking for whether you provide open work that is consistent with our mission and our brand values. By "open work" we mean that individuals can start contributing work to your team without explicit permission from you, with a clear path to sharing in any revenue your team may generate.

While the wider Gratipay community does have a chance to comment publicly on your application, the final decision whether to accept or reject your application will come from Gratipay itself. Please expect a decision from us by this Thursday, May 28.

If you have questions about your application, feel free to reply privately to this email or comment publicly on GitHub.

Thanks again for your application! :-)

Subject: your Gratipay Team application

Greetings.

Thank you for applying for a Gratipay Team. We've decided not to accept your application, because the fansub community doesn't fit the brand we're going for with Gratipay. If you read through our brand values, we believe you'll agree that the way fansub groups relate to one another clashes pretty strongly with our values, in particular "kindness," "collaboration," and "openness to one another."

Secondarily, we're not interested in being associated with the legal concerns that surround fansubbing.

Your user account has [a small] balance accumulated under Gratipay 1.0. Obviously it's not much, but we do plan to send it to you via PayPal to [] as soon as we're able to start releasing Gratipay 1.0 balances. Expect a notification from us when that happens.

Best wishes.

Bumping Kivy to next week due to complications with getting them configured properly.
